This role is a ward based doing medication rounds.

21.5 hours a week, 7am-4pm, 2 or 3 days a week, fixed days over a 2 week rolling rota. Every other weekend working, both days but Saturday working till 7pm.

Job summary

We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative pharmacist to provide professional and operational leadership to our expanding Pharmacy Technical Services team.

Pharmacy Technical Services is a dynamic and evolving area of practice, that plays a vital role in the safe preparation and supply of complex medicines to patients. Our team prepares and supplies systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) to patients across all four hospital sites within the Health Board and delivers a growing clinical trials service, providing investigational medicinal products to each site. Job summary

The primary role of this post is to lead and provide a comprehensive, high quality clinical pharmacy services to Women's Health and Maternity Services at the Trust. Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be Lead Pharmacist for Medicine and must develop the specialist clinical pharmacy service to patients within the associated area in line with local and national standards and policies, ensuring the safe, clinical and cost-effective use of medicines and staff resources.

The post-holder will provide a highly specialised level of pharmaceutical care to patients and will support other healthcare staff in meeting risk management, financial management and clinical governance responsibilities around the use of medicines.

The post-holder will provide highly specialised advice within their area of clinical specialism to other pharmacists and healthcare professionals, including participation in multidisciplinary and governance meetings.

The post-holder will deliver training to pharmacists and foundation pharmacist trainees within their area of clinical specialism and must undertake clinical supervision, mentoring and assessments of junior pharmacists, medicines management technicians and pre-registration pharmacists.

We have an opportunity for an experienced and committed pharmacy technician to join the East London NHS Foundation Trust Pharmacy bank. The post holder will lead on a full range of dispensing activities, using their enthusiasm to motivate the team to meet department deadlines, as well as participating in the line management of junior staff. You will use pharmacy computer systems and robotics to co-ordinate and maintain the supply of medicines.

You should have great communication and interpersonal skills; be calm, flexible and adaptable; and be able to work in a dynamic environment.

You will be expected to develop good working relationships with other staff within pharmacy and with the multidisciplinary team.

All applicants must have completed a BTEC / NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent and be registered as a pharmacy technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.You will possess an accreditation in medicines management training (AIMMS/MOPs) and have completed accredited checking technician training (ACPT) .

The successful candidate will be supported to develop the scope of the role, supporting the renal unit, Emergency Quarter and wards to review patients with acute and chronic kidney disease who are admitted to hospital and in community settings.The renal unit at Glan Clwyd treats patients with varying degrees of renal function and those requiring acute or chronic dialysis treatments. You will have a key role within the multidisciplinary team of doctors, specialist nurses, dieticians and other allied healthcare professionals.You will lead and manage high cost medications within the renal pharmacy service and provide evaluated financial information in accordance with the needs of the division.You will be self-motivated with excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills. Main duties of the job

Education, Training and Qualifications

Essential

• GCSE grade 3 or equivalent in Maths and English or proven equivalent
• GPhC approved Level 2 qualification in Pharmacy Services or willingness to work towards.

Experience & Knowledge

Essential

• Proven experience of working in a customer facing role, ideally within an NHS setting
• Proven good literacy/numeracy skills
• Knowledge of pharmacy services and stock control systems

Desirable

• Previous experience of working in a hospital pharmacy stores department
