Main duties of the job

As a rotational Band 6 pharmacist, you will deliver patient-centred pharmaceutical care across a variety of clinical settings, working alongside experienced pharmacists and multidisciplinary colleagues.

Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated individual to join our clinical pharmacy team as an Advanced Pharmacist - Women and Children. This is fixed term 12 month post to cover maternity leave. You will provide a clinical pharmacy service to our womens and childrens wards. Therefore significant recent and relevant experience of providing a clinical pharmacy service to paediatrics is expected.

You will also be responsible for providing directorate support to the women and children directorate within the Family and Specialist Services division

You will be strongly encouraged to come up with innovative ideas to improve the clinical service alongside increased medicines efficiency savings.

This new post will lead and deliver the clinical pharmacy service for the Enhanced Level A Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit (POSCU) services across Royal Surrey NHS Foundation Trust (RS) and Ashford St Peter's NHS Foundation Trust (ASPH). Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will rotate through each area of the pharmacy including stores and procurement, dispensary, clinical trials, homecare and the wards. They will be expected to work closely with the pharmacy team and MDT's including nurses and Healthcare Support Workers depending on what area of the pharmacy they will be rotated in at the time.

They will be participating in receiving deliveries of medication, ward top ups, how to create orders of medications, learning the different areas of the pharmacy, dispensing prescriptions, stock and date checking, podding inpatients to help their discharge to run smoothly, counselling patients at their discharge on the wards and performing medication histories for new patients.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team within the HMP Chelmsford prison. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of pharmaceutical services in a secure and structured environment. Main Responsibilities

• The post holder will work as an effective member of the Pharmacy team in providing healthcare services, including medication administration to the patients.
• They will assist in the delivery of a high quality pharmacy service, providing medicines management services to assist in tackling identified inequalities within the prison.
• The post holder will also provide pharmacy related information to patients, prison officers and other healthcare professionals, ensuring that the level of advice given is appropriate to need.
• The role requires autonomous function and within the scope of competency, whilst being a support and resource to less experienced members of staff.
• Assist with the implementation and development of pharmacy support to all the residential wings in the prison which includes, where appropriate, advising patients on the correct use of medication.

Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a hospital pharmacy setting and study for a fully funded Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy? Does the prospect of being supported to develop and progress from band 6 to band 7 appeal to you? If your answer to these questions is yes, then we have just the role for you!

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed pharmacist/trainee pharmacist to join our friendly Pharmacy team by the sea. Scarborough Hospital has an excellent clinical pharmacy training programme, tailored to develop your clinical skills, and meet individual needs. This post includes a fully funded two-year Postgraduate Diploma in Foundation Pharmacy Practice with the University of Bradford with the option to complete the non-medical prescribing module if not already a non-medical prescriber. You will be provided a work-based supervisor and allocated study time.

This is a band 6 to band 7 progression post, where after being in post for at least 12 months and being able to demonstrate you have met the key responsibilities based on the Royal Pharmaceutical Society's Advanced Pharmacy Framework, you will be eligible for progression into a band 7 role.

Depending on experience, a successful applicant may be appointed to start as a Band 7 pharmacist working in specialist rotations.

The Pharmacy team at Scarborough prides itself on being supportive and friendly, and staff development is encouraged.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain clinical experience in many different specialities such as; elderly care, respiratory, diabetes, cardiology, stroke, gastroenterology, acute medical admissions and surgery. You will rotate through the different areas of the hospital, working as part of a small team with medicines management technicians and assistants and supported by specialist pharmacists in each area.

A comprehensive induction, training and ongoing support is provided for all new staff.

This post is based at Scarborough Hospital and core service hours are Monday - Friday 9am until 5:30pm. The post includes participation in the weekend, bank holiday and on-call rota.

To co-operate with the provision of necessary staffing within the pharmaceutical service and participate in staff rotation to other sites e.g. St Helens. To assist in the preparation and assembly of resuscitation and anaphylaxis boxes. To participate in stock control of medicines within the pharmacy department under the supervision of the dispensary manager or senior technician. Regularly handle or process cash or cheques when dealing with outpatients prescriptions. To comply with the legal and other requirements related to the purchase, supply, use, safe custody and destruction of drugs both within the Pharmacy and in all other areas of the Trust. To comply with and ensure that all other pharmacy staff under his / her control comply with the Health and Safety at work act, COSHH Regulations, Display Screen Equipment Regulations, Data Protection Act and other appropriate legislation during daily activities. To participate in the Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday rotas. To participate in evening and on-call rotas in response to the changing needs of the service. To assist with basic counselling of outpatients in accordance with pharmacy procedures and under the supervision of a pharmacist or Pharmacy technician. To answer telephone and face to face queries of a routine or basic technical nature from a wide range of staff groups, patients and the public, either in the pharmacy or on the ward, and refer appropriate queries to the relevant member of the pharmacy team when necessary.
