Job summary
Do you have experience working as an Inpatient or Community Social Worker?
Do you want to transform the lives of people with mental health conditions?
We welcome applicants who are newly qualified and who are interested in a Band 5 development post.
We are a friendly and dynamic integrated mental health team in the beautiful City of Oxford and we are looking for strengths based social workers, who are committed to promoting the social perspective of mental health. Based in Headington, Shabs and Hilda will actively promote for you to be a relational based social worker and enhance your social work leadership skills to enable you to flourish and develop in your role.
We invest in higher level post qualifying professional development and our monthly social work forum is where our energetic collective meet to share ideas and talk about the messy stuff.
Newly qualified? Don't worry! We will give you the opportunity to develop a strong foundation in social work values and ethics (and all the complicated legal bits in between!). Our ASYE programme is excellent and you will have a protected case load for the duration of the supported year of practice.
Main duties of the job
You will play a crucial role in improving mental health outcomes for our service users. You will bring a distinctive social and rights based perspective to the work that you do and promote this within the multi-disciplinary team and beyond. You will liaise with other agencies to ensure that the needs and rights of people with lived experience of mental health are at the front and centre of services and interventions.
You will use your advanced relationship skills to work with people to make positive and self-directed change and support them to work towards recovery as defined by them. You will provide advocacy support and understand the important role of carers, working in partnership to support them especially at time of crisis.
Providing statutory social care assessments under the Care Act and s.117 after-care Mental Health Act is a key feature of the role and you will provide a strengths based, rights focused assessment to identify and meet need, ensuring timely review of packages of support.
Working with complexity and risk is a key feature of the role and you will use your safeguarding adults knowledge to identify abuse and neglect and work with the person and other agencies to seek ways in which to protect and safeguard the person. At times, you will need to use legislative frameworks such as the Mental Capacity Act and Mental Health Act to support people who are unable to make decisions for themselves, balancing and protecting the rights of people and others.

We welcome applicants who are newly qualified and who are interested in a Band 5 development post.
We are a friendly and dynamic integrated mental health team in the beautiful City of Oxford and we are looking for strengths based social workers, who are committed to promoting the social perspective of mental health.

Job summary
This is a pivotal role for a Senior Clinical Pharmacist who wants to make a measurable difference to medicines safety, governance and patient care across out-of-hours and dental services. You will lead a focused review of medicines management arrangements, assessing how medicines are prescribed, supplied, stored, administered, reconciled, disposed of and escalated across the services. Working closely with the Lead Pharmacist and clinical, operational and governance colleagues, you will identify compliance gaps, patient-safety risks and opportunities to strengthen practice. Your specialist insight will directly inform improvements to clinical governance, medicines optimisation and assurance arrangements.
This is an opportunity to use your pharmacy expertise at a strategic level: reviewing high-risk medicines, controlled drugs, antimicrobial stewardship and emergency medicines; analysing incidents and audit findings; and translating evidence into clear, prioritised recommendations. You will produce a robust current-state assessment, risk and gap analysis, improvement plan and final report, helping shape safer, more consistent and more effective medicines management for patients
Main duties of the job
- Map and review end-to-end medicines management processes across out-of-hours and dental services, including prescribing, supply, storage, administration, reconciliation, disposal and escalation.
- Assess arrangements against legislation, regulatory and professional standards, licence conditions, organisational policies and governance requirements, identifying compliance gaps and good practice.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and procedures, identifying patient-safety risks, unwarranted variation, duplication and opportunities to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Review the safe management of high-risk medicines, controlled drugs, emergency medicines and cold-chain products, escalating immediate safety or significant compliance concerns through appropriate governance routes.
- Assess prescribing quality, antimicrobial stewardship, medicines optimisation and access to pharmacy advice, identifying opportunities to strengthen safe and effective practice.
- Review incidents, near misses, complaints, audits, policies, documentation and training arrangements to identify systemic risks, recurring themes and areas requiring improvement.
- Engage with the Lead Pharmacist, clinicians, operational teams and partners; produce a documented risk and gap analysis, prioritised recommendations, improvement plan, audit criteria and a final report for relevant governance forums.

In addition to local hospital care, we provide a wide range of specialist services for people across the South West and from all over the country.
Our specialist services include major trauma, childrens services, neurosciences, burns and plastics, stroke and thrombectomy, cardiology, cancer care, haematology, ophthalmology, cardiothoracic care, nephrology, immunology, infectious diseases and HIV, sexual health, transplant services, and obstetric medicine.
We are also a research and teaching trust. We work closely with the Universities of Bristol, Bath and the West of England to support research, innovation and education, and to improve care for patients now and in the future.
Working with patients, communities and partners we want people and communities to help shape the care we provide.
We work with patients, carers, communities, staff, voluntary organisations, and health and care partners to understand what matters most. This helps us improve services, reduce health inequalities, and make better decisions about the future of care.
The physiotherapy teams have well established CPD programs and strong supervision and wellbeing support. The senior physiotherapists regularly contribute to service development and QI projects and support junior staff, students and support workers.
