Main duties of the job

Clear precise communication with clinical teams working as part of theMental Health Pathway team.

Liaise and work closely with the healthcare administration team toensure duplicating work is avoided and all administrative tasks areundertaken efficiently.

Communicate and work closely with colleagues from other prisons forshared learning and joint working arrangements.

Green Parks House is an inpatient unit of four wards, three working age adult and one older adult based in the grounds of Princess Royal University Hospital. The group was set up by Occupational Therapy staff interested in music and the well-being it provides to patients. This group has been facilitated by OT staff, using a play list.

Bexley CAMHS provides specialist mental health care for children and young people from birth to 18 years with their parents/families/carers. We provide specialist assessment and treatment for children and young people with severe and enduring emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties. Main duties of the job

The Rotational Occupational Therapist will work autonomously, providing high quality, evidence based Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions for Bromley Healthcare patients, including those referred with complex multiple pathologies, social and care needs. You will dispense prescriptions and stock items, whilst supervising assistants when in the dispensary. This post is for an 8b SLaM AVATAR therapy Training Lead for a new Wellcome funded study, AVATAR-RWE (Real World Evidence).The successful candidate will work as part of an NHS implementation study of AVATAR therapy, a blended digital intervention for distressing voices in psychosis. Having tested efficacy in rigorous randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and with replication emerging from independent research groups, our focus is on national and international implementation of AVATAR therapy. In March 2024 AVATAR therapy received a NICE-Early Value Assessment recommendation for deployment in the NHS for the purpose of real-world evidence generation.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

The post holder will:

Lead on training and supervision of therapists in SLaM.

Supervise the Assistant Psychologist, to support data collection to a high standard, in line with study protocols.

Oversee reporting and transfer of research data to project leads, in line with research governance approvals.

Support the optimisation of AVATAR therapy software and training resources

Support the KCL-based Researchers in development of study materials.

The post holder may be asked to contribute to training and supervision beyond SLaM (i.e. other trusts/ clinical settings) to support the wider roll-out of AVATAR therapy

The post holder will support Dr Tom Ward and Dr Clem Edwards in the delivery of these aims. The job purpose will focus on leadership in the training and supervision of AVATAR therapy delivered within SLaM alongside the real-world data collection.

The Psychological Therapies Teams and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Teams in prisons are integrated into the mental health team to provide holistic support to a complex population of people in prison presenting with a range of needs and risks. Main duties of the job

The post holder will work within a busy multi-disciplinary prison mental health team, comprising psychologists and psychotherapists, psychiatrists, and nursing staff. Clinical responsibilities will include provision of psychological assessment, including structured assessment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), psycho-educational workshops, and short-term trauma-focussed therapies, with access to regular supervision. This is an existing post for an experienced and charismatic leader with sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act who will be take on the overall management of a very busy Mental Health Act office and formidable staff. As a team manager you should have an in-depth understanding of the mental health law and its implementation as you are sometime the first post of call for advice from mental health professionals, nearest relatives. Due to challenges faced and the different roles and duties undertaken by the MHAO staff, the role requires someone who is disciplined, well organised and has the ability to engage in difficult conversations.

The team has recently adopted a new way of working following the centralisation of the four local offices into one location at the Maudsley hospital. The team comprises one Band 7, two Band 6s, four Band 5s and eight Band 4s covering the newly created functional workstreams responsible for receiving scrutinise patients detentions and consent, co-ordinating mental health tribunal and Associate Managers hearings. You will directly line-manage team leaders, who in turn manage Band 5/4 coordinators and you will be working alongside the Trust MCA lead and a B7 Service Level Agreement (SLA) support manager.

Main duties of the job

This role demands excellent verbal and written communication skills, as you will regularly engage with service users, carers, professionals, and external agencies, including solicitors and tribunal members. You will also contribute to the day-to-day supervision and appraisal of staff, as well as lead on the investigation of complaints and incidents.

You will need strong leadership abilities to effectively manage and support a team of experienced Mental Health Act Coordinators. As this is a high-performing team, you will be expected to maintain a positive, well-organised environment that supports both staff and the individuals who use our services, along with their carers and nearest relatives.

A solid understanding of clinical information systems is essential. You should be confident using databases, diaries, MHA deadline-tracking systems, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office applications. The ability to interpret data and reports is a key requirement, as you will be responsible for providing each directorate with accurate updates on their compliance with the Mental Health Act.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with older adults. A part time position has become available in Bromley Older Adult Community Mental Health Team and we warmly welcome your applications. Main duties of the job

The postholder will work in collaboration with other Occupational Therapists in the CMHT in contributing to the development and delivery of the OT pathway, while also holding care co-ordination responsibility for a small, defined number of service users.
