An exciting opportunity has presented for a pharmacist to join our cancer pharmacy team. We are looking to recruit to the post of Rotational Pharmacist in Cancer who will play a pivotal role in managing the pharmacy service provided to cancer patients.

UCLH, in partnership with University College London, has been designated one of the country's five comprehensive biomedical research centres and there is an on-site early phase cancer clinical trials unit.

The UCLH Macmillan Cancer Centre opened in April 2012 and encompasses our busy outpatient clinics and daycare treatment facilities as well as our growing ambulatory chemotherapy practice.

The UCLH Grafton Way Building opened 2022 and supports our expanding haematology service including haematopoietic stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy. Chemotherapy production services are delivered from a state of the art unit situated within the Macmillan Cancer Centre.

The pharmacy cancer team is well integrated into the cancer directorate and provides a high-quality and progressive pharmacy service to cancer patients.

Main duties of the job

The main day to day responsibilities would include:

manage the day-to-day delivery of, and support the development of, clinical pharmacy services to cancer patients

provide safe, clinically effective and cost efficient use of medicines to cancer patients

work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and undertake an active role in the safe provision of medicines to cancer patients

To maintain and further develop the pharmacy service to cancer patients, we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated pharmacist to join our lively, progressive and dynamic pharmacy team.

Our ideal candidate will be:

interested in helping us develop and deliver our vision for a patient-focussed clinical pharmacy service

able to drive directorate and departmental clinical governance issues, clinical audit, practice research, service improvement projects and more

keen to further their career within cancer services

The post will provide comprehensive cancer clinical and technical pharmacy experience through a competency based training programme. You will have the opportunity to work in a broad range of clinical haematology and oncology specialties and settings including inpatient wards, day-care, outpatient clinics and ambulatory care.

You will have a Postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy (or equivalent experience) and post registration employment experience in a hospital setting, including working in a cancer speciality.

Are you highly motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication, administrative and organisational skills looking for a rewarding and dynamic role?The RNENT & ED Hospitals (UCLH) are recruiting a Senior Assistant Technical Officer/ Associate Paediatric Audiologist on a permanent basis for 37.5hours per week.

Previous experience in Audiology is desirable but not essential. This role will be a great opportunity to work in a team of paediatric audiologists and work alongside multidisciplinary teams.

Paediatric Audiology has undergone a lot of changes throughout the years, and we are looking for an individual who can be part of a team who is keen to improve service delivery and working towards being part of IQIPS accreditation process.

The successful candidate will be assisting in paediatric audiology assessments and performing a variety of tasks including carrying out hearing aid repairs, ordering stock and responding to patient queries and correspondence. We are recruiting for a Band 7 Team Lead Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient Paediatric Therapy Team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the dynamic radiotherapy team at UCLH. The post holder will undertake rotations between the photon and proton departments and will work across a wide range of areas; pre-treatment, treatment-prep, the treatment units and brachytherapy.UCLH is seeking a committed individual with the energy and focus to continue building on the existing service of excellence.Radiotherapy services at UCLH are delivered across two departments. The photon department is equipped with Varian TrueBeam systems with advanced imaging packages and 6DoF couches, and is in the process of acquiring and installing an additional Halcyon unit. The department has a comprehensive brachytherapy suite and a Gulmay skin unit. UCLH is one of only two NHS sites delivering proton beam therapy across the NHS. The proton beam therapy (PBT) department is equipped with Varian ProBeam gantries with advanced imaging packages and robotic couches. Both departments have a dedicated CT scanner and the PBT department also has a dedicated MRI scanner.The department delivers radiotherapy services for a broad spectrum of cancers comprising of common cancers as well as specialist treatments including brachytherapy, molecular radiotherapy and total body irradiation. The PBT department focus's predominantly on head and neck, brain and sarcoma treatment sites. Paediatrics and TYAs make up approximately one third of the patient cohort.

Job summary

This post offers an exciting opportunity to join the pre-treatment team across radiotherapy and proton beam therapy services at UCLH. They will promote technical developments and ensure the highest possible standard of care for patients with cancer.

The radiotherapy department delivers treatment for a broad spectrum of cancers which include a wide range of common cancers as well as specialist treatments including a paediatric and adolescent workload, brachytherapy and isotope work, total body irradiation and limb sarcoma radiotherapy. The pre-treatment suite area is equipped with a dedicated CT, Mould room and has access to MRI and PETCT. Radiographers deliver advanced practice for palliative virtual simulation and breast localisation.

UCLH has been designated as one of two national Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) centres for the UK.

The PBT department focusses on the treatment of CNS tumours, head and neck cancers and spinal/pelvic sarcomas. Paediatrics, and teenage and young adults, make up approximately one third of the patient cohort. The PBT pre-treatment suite has a dedicated CT and MRI scanner.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual to join our team. The individual will promote best practice and streamlining the patient pathway. They will carry out all practical aspects involved in preparing radiotherapy delivery to a high standard in a culture of safe, patient centric service. We are looking for an enthusiastic experienced Planning Radiographer/Dosimetrist to join the UCLH dosimetry team as part of the radiotherapy and proton therapy physics team.

Job summary

UCLH is designated as one of only two NHS PBT centres for the UK. The Proton Beam Therapy department predominantly treats CNS tumours, head and neck cancers and spinal/pelvic sarcomas. Paediatric and teenage and young adult patients make up a high proportion the cohort. The department has four ProBeam treatment gantries, a pre-treatment suite with a dedicated CT and MRI scanner I equipped with a surface guided radiotherapy system.

This post offers a unique opportunity to play an instrumental role in the proton beam therapy service at UCLH. The post holder will be an integral part of the oncology team providing professional clinical leadership and ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of highly complex proton beam therapy (PBT). They will effectively manage the proton service staff and their educational and professional development, play a key role in technical advancements and ensure that patients with cancer receive optimum care.

Comprehensive proton beam therapy training will be provided alongside the existing departmental training and education framework.

Main duties of the job

This is an autonomous role where the post holder is expected to manage their own case-load and is accountable for their own professional actions and the actions of more junior staff members. This post covers the proton service but close liaison with the photon service is expected.

The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of the proton beam therapy (PBT) treatment floor and will have a high level of clinical expertise, ensuring the safe and accurate delivery of proton beam therapy. They will be required to liaise with other professional groups and clinical staff to ensure that care is delivered in a seamless and multi-disciplinary environment in a timely and patient-focused manner.

The post holder will be responsible for identifying and setting standards and will ensure that all staff are kept up to date with current treatment techniques, providing robust training in order that they have the necessary skills for the safe and accurate delivery of PBT. They will support staff to achieve their goals through regular meetings, both with the individual, and the Technical and Operational Leads for PBT.

The post holder will develop policies and protocols and will play an active role in research and in exploring and developing new ways of working to achieve the tri-fold goal of the service: improving quality of radiotherapy treatment, improving patient care and improving staff satisfaction.

This role offers an opportunity to be part of the dynamic radiotherapy team at UCLH. The post holder will undertake rotations between the photon and proton departments and will work across a wide range of areas; pre-treatment, treatment-prep, the treatment units and brachytherapy.

UCLH is seeking a committed individual with the energy and focus to continue building on the existing service of excellence.

Radiotherapy services at UCLH are delivered across two departments. The photon department is equipped with Varian TrueBeam systems with advanced imaging packages and 6DoF couches. The department has a comprehensive brachytherapy suite and a Gulmay skin unit. UCLH is one of only two NHS sites delivering proton beam therapy across the NHS. The proton beam therapy (PBT) department is equipped with Varian ProBeam gantries with advanced imaging packages and robotic couches. Both departments have a dedicated CT scanner and the PBT department also has a dedicated MRI scanner.

The department delivers radiotherapy services for a broad spectrum of cancers comprising of common cancers as well as specialist treatments including brachytherapy, molecular radiotherapy and total body irradiation. The PBT department focus's predominantly on head and neck, brain and sarcoma treatment sites. Paediatrics and TYAs make up approximately one third of the patient cohort.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be accountable for own professional actions and will work autonomously within the legal, ethical and professional framework provided by the professional body. Work within the quality system at all times. They will question and propose changes to procedures when necessary, to maintain the validity and appropriateness of the system.They will have the ability to deputise for Band 7 radiographers ensuring the continuity of patient flow through the department.They will be required to prioritise daily tasks, considering the patients' needs and team skills mix. They will react and reorganise the workload in response to unforeseen circumstances, such as machine breakdown, to minimise disruption.The role requires liaison with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure best practice with respect to patient care prior to, during and following radiotherapy treatment.They will facilitate the development, training and integration of junior members of staff.They will rotate throughout all areas within both the Photon and Proton services and will participate in the departmental on call service in the photon service.They will be required to continually looking to improve existing methods and create new solutions to optimise the care and service provided to the patients.The post holder must be extremely competent and comfortable with the use of computer software, e.g. patient treatment, image manipulation, and virtual simulation, in a highly technological environment.
