Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our Theatres team. If you have experience working in an operating theatre and enjoy the teamwork, organisation and attention to detail that surgical care requires, we would love to hear from you.
Main duties of the job
As a Theatre Healthcare Assistant, you will help patients feel cared for and reassured throughout their surgical journey. From preparing equipment before an operating list to supporting patients as they arrive in theatre, your contribution will help the team deliver safe, personalised care
About us
Our Main Theatres and MITU department brings together healthcare assistants, nurses, operating department practitioners and surgeons to care for patients undergoing a wide range of surgical procedures. It is a busy environment where working well together, sharing knowledge and looking out for one another are essential to the care we provide. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be a valued member of this team, working alongside experienced colleagues who can offer guidance and help you build confidence in your role. You will have opportunities to develop your theatre skills through relevant training and day to day learning, with encouragement to ask questions and share your ideas. From helping a patient feel at ease to preparing the theatre for the next procedure, your contribution will matter to both your patients and your colleagues. As the UK's largest independent charitable hospital, we care for over 120,000 patients each year. What makes us different is what we do with that success. We reinvest it back into our services, our technology and, most importantly, our people. From developing innovative new ways of delivering care to supporting continuous learning and career progression, we're always looking ahead.
