An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the current team within the Leeds Dental Institute as a Band 2 Dental Clinical Support Worker.

Dental Clinical Support Workers work as a highly valued member of the Dental Team and applicants should be reliable, enthusiastic, professional and well-motivated team players whilst also being able to work on their own initiative.

The jobholder will provide support for the delivery of the dental and training service within the clinical, outreach centres and non-clinical departments and of the Leeds Dental Institute and the University School of Dentistry.

The role consists of working in the Leeds Dental Institute sterile instrument store and clinical departments. This role has limited patient contact.

The post holder will be responsible for providing quality support to dental students, dental nurses and clinicians within the Leeds Dental Institute. This involves supporting the dental nurses in daily maintenance of clinics and decontamination of clinical equipment, providing clean equipment and consumables to support clinical activity of undergraduate and post graduate dental students and clinical staff.

Rotating, maintaining and restocking equipment / materials / instruments within the sterile instrument store and clinical areas.

Assisting the team to collect and check used equipment returning for reprocessing at our external provider site.

Working in the clean and dirty dispensaries in busy clinical departments dispensing instruments, materials and equipment to staff and students.

Working in clinical areas supporting the dental team and patients.

Complete all relevant daily documentation in compliance with relevant statutory legislation, local codes of practice and quality control procedures.

Please note: This role is very physical and successful candidates may spend most of the day on their feet or moving and handling heavy loads.

Experience is not essential, just a willingness to learn, as training will be provided.

What you will bring to the role Plan, maintain and develop scientific and technical support to diagnostic X-ray imaging, including imaging quality assurance programmes, advice on equipment specification, commissioning new equipment, advice on and measurement of patient doses, and investigation of complex faults that may impact on image quality or patient safety.

Ensure physics input is provided to support the work of Radiology departments. Advise Radiology staff on a wide range of complex scientific, technical and clinical issues relevant to the use of X-ray equipment for patient care. Take operational responsibility for the physics services being managed.

Ensure that instrument quality assurance and quality control programme for X-ray equipment (such as CT scanners and other complex X-ray systems such as that used for interventional vascular radiology) is correctly carried out to required guidelines and standards. Ensure that all imaging and related equipment is functioning correctly.

Ensure that appropriate equipment is available and calibrated, for the monitoring of radiation levels, x-ray parameters and image quality.

Investigate and resolve complex equipment problems. Carry out fault-finding on complex equipment and other complex equipment to determine the cause of subtle or non-reproducible system faults. Liaise with suppliers regarding equipment breakdown, and arrange for the maintenance and servicing of identified items of equipment. Work closely with clinicians, radiographers, technical staff and other physicists for the evaluation and purchase of capital equipment, providing appropriate technical and scientific support. Take responsibility for the acceptance testing and commissioning of such equipment.

Ensure cover is arranged to ensure robust Radiological Physics service delivery.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Blood Sciences management team. The role will focus upon making safe first and foremost then working on engineering solutions to enhance and support clinical colleagues in treating patients. The role is about being organised, professional and working to the HTM's and other guidance documentation and also providing the necessary supporting documentation/feedback.

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Band 6 Registered Practitioner to join the Orthopaedic and Spinal Theatre Team at Chapel Allerton Hospital, part of Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Working within our busy Elective Surgical Hub, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality perioperative care for patients undergoing a wide range of orthopaedic and spinal procedures. Our department currently comprises four elective operating theatres and is undergoing an exciting expansion programme, with two additional theatres currently being built, creating opportunities to influence and support the future development of the service.

As a Band 6 Practitioner, you will be expected to provide visible clinical leadership, support the development of colleagues, and contribute to service improvement whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about elective surgery, demonstrate excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills, and thrive as part of a multidisciplinary team. Current registration with the NMC or HCPC is essential for all registered professional roles.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective perioperative care to patients undergoing elective orthopaedic and spinal procedures. You will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to plan and deliver individualised patient care, contribute to service development initiatives, and support the maintenance of high clinical and governance standards. You will participate in audit and quality improvement activities to ensure compliance with governance requirements and best practice standards.

As a Band 6 practitioner, you will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the theatre team, ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times to support safe and efficient patient care. You will provide visible clinical leadership and support to registered and unregistered staff, apprentices, students and learners within the department, promoting a positive learning culture and supporting workforce development. You will also play a key role in maintaining high standards of patient care, service delivery and team performance within our growing Elective Surgical Hub.

The jobholder will play an essential role assisting Team Leader in leading and teaching the peri-operative teams.
