Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Band 6 - Senior Paediatric Sleep and Respiratory Physiologist to join the existing Paediatric Sleep and Respiratory Physiology team within West London Children's Healthcare (WLCH).
This specialist Band 6 role offers the opportunity to work within a growing and dynamic paediatric sleep and long-term ventilation service, supporting infants, children and young people with a wide range of complex sleep and respiratory conditions. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic sleep studies and supporting children requiring long-term ventilation.
Based primarily at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, the role includes cross-site working across all WLCH hospitals, collaborating closely with Consultants, Clinical Scientists, Physiologists, Respiratory Nurse Specialists, Physiotherapists and wider multidisciplinary teams.
We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated, clinically skilled and passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people through high-quality, compassionate and evidence-based care.
If you are committed to improving outcomes for children and young people and thrive in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, we would welcome your application.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Paediatric Sleep Physiologist will support the delivery and development of specialist paediatric sleep and respiratory physiology services across West London Children's Healthcare sites.
The post holder will perform and assist in the interpretation of a range of diagnostic sleep investigations for children and young people, including complex cardiorespiratory sleep studies in patients receiving invasive or non-invasive ventilation. The role also includes supporting the initiation, education and follow-up of children receiving CPAP, non-invasive ventilation (NIV), and long-term oxygen therapy.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, family-centred care while ensuring investigations are performed to a high technical and professional standard in accordance with departmental protocols and AASM standards.
About us
West London Children's Healthcare was formed on 1st April 2022 bringing paediatric services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (CWFT) under a single leadership structure accountable to both Trust Boards for all elements of operational, quality, safety and financial performance. WLCH runs services from Chelsea & Westminster Hospital; Hammersmith Hospital; St Mary's Hospital and West Middlesex Hospital. In addition, two child development services operate from the Cheyne Centre and Woodfield Road.
WLCH has been established to drive the changes needed to reduce these variations and to improve quality, experience and outcomes across all aspects of child health. We value every member of our team and we are absolutely committed to recruiting and retaining a thriving, diverse and inclusive workforce. Every member of our team has a role to play in leading and shaping the transformation required to improve outcomes by optimising joint working, sharing best practice and constantly striving for improvement.
If you haven't heard from us within 3 weeks of the closing date, your application was likely unsuccessful. Employment is subject to a six-month probation. Some roles may require weekend shifts at multiple sites.

You will lead our operational relationships and partnerships across Westminster and the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, working with local authorities, primary and community care, the voluntary sector and other partners to develop more integrated models of care and strengthen the connection between our hospitals and the communities they serve.
This is an opportunity to take on one of the most significant operational leadership roles within Imperial: leading major hospitals, influencing care across place and system, shaping substantial change and improvement, and working directly with the Chief Operating Officer and wider executive team to deliver our ambitions for patients, staff and communities.

- The Hospital Director and Director of System Partnerships will act as the Trust's senior representative within the local health and care system for the communities served by the hospital. The postholder will build trusted relationships across organisational boundaries to improve the health and wellbeing of the local population, strengthen integration between services and ensure that the hospital plays a leading role as an anchor institution within its local community.
- The role requires significant influence without direct authority, bringing together leaders from across organisations to develop shared solutions to complex operational and strategic challenges.
- The Hospital Director and Director of System Partnerships works with the Divisional and Directorate management teams, and the Executive Team, to support the day to day empowerment local teams to resolve issues at site level by cross divisional working and pulling together all site based support services. This includes site based bed management and admissions
Please take the time to read my letter to interested candidates, if you are excited by the challenge of leading complex services today while helping to design how care should be delivered in the future, I would be delighted to hear from you.
