This is an exciting time to join our newly developed Complex Psychosis Service. We are investing in our workforce, expanding our Assertive Outreach model and building multidisciplinary teams that are passionate about recovery, innovation and delivering outstanding care for people living with complex psychosis.
You'll work alongside experienced clinicians in a supportive environment that values professional development, compassionate leadership and continuous improvement. Whether you're looking to broaden your community mental health experience or develop specialist expertise in complex psychosis and assertive outreach, we'll support you to grow.
We are committed to building a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. All appointments will be made on merit.
We welcome applications from registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers and Occupational Therapists who share our ambition to deliver exceptional care and improve the lives of people experiencing severe mental illness.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be working in a Complex Psychosis Team within the Assertive Outreach Pathway, taking responsibility to assess, plan and coordinate the care plan and treatment of a defined caseload of service users with complex needs related to psychotic illnesses.
The Complex Psychosis Teams are a multidisciplinary, community-based service responsible for providing on-going holistic assessments, treatment and support to clients with severe and enduring mental illness living in the community. The service will enable patients with severe mental health problems to be supported and cared for in the community in the least restrictive setting through an assertive, personalised and integrated approach to care and treatment.
The service will provide an intensive community-based mental health service delivered in service users' home environments and in supported living accommodation or other locations agreed with the service user utilising "A whole system approach" to recovery from mental ill health. The approach maximizes an individual's quality of life and social inclusion by supporting engagement, encouraging their skills, promoting independence and autonomy in order to give them hope for the future which leads to successful community living through appropriate support

This is an exciting post, working in a supportive team that prioritises evidence based practice and professional development. Our attachments strongly align with the BDA preceptorship and we have a strong focus on continued professional development and peer support. Our team is supportive, forward thinking and we pride ourselves in supporting each of our team on their own personal journey. All staff members joining the department are supported with internal and external training and development opportunities, robust clinical supervision, in addition to access to the nationally recognised Black Country preceptorship programme for newly qualified professionals. You would be joining a team of seven band 5 peers and we have a strong track history of supporting people to develop in post and to achieve promotions in role. Nutrition and hydration is very much recognised as a fundamental of care at SWB and we consistently strive to deliver and further develop the trust-wide nutrition and hydration ambition.

We care for our patients, we care about our population, and we care about our people.
Our values - Ambition, Respect and Compassion - are at the heart of who we are. They guide us every step of the way; how we work with each other, and how we look after our patients and their families; how we respect and value the rich diversity of our team and our community.
Our Trust has always aspired to be more than a hospital, more than a healthcare provider. Our purpose is to "Improve the Life Chances and Health Outcomes of our Population." It is what inspires, drives, and unites us every day. It's what makes us unique.
We want working at SWB to feel like more than just a job. We want our Trust to be a place where you can feel you belong. A place where you feel happy, safe, and rewarded. A place where you can develop your career in whatever way you choose. When we say we're 'with you all the way' we want you to know that we mean it.
