Job Summary
The Triage & Clinical Support Pharmacy Technician/Dispenser plays a vital role in connecting the frontline Patient Services/Reception team with the clinical triage workflow. Working as a key bridge between care navigators and duty clinicians, you will lead the digital intake, initial assessment, and resolution of medication-related queries received via Accurx Patient Triage, EMIS Web, and internal reception requests.
This role requires a highly self-motivated individual who naturally uses their initiative to solve problems, streamline administrative bottlenecks, and support frontline staff. While you will be expected to work proactively, you will be fully supported with structured training, clinical mentorship, and clear practice protocols to safely expand your scope of practice.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities1. Bridge Between Reception & Clinical Triage
Reception & Care Navigation Liaison: Act as the direct liaison for the reception/patient services team, taking verbal and written medication queries from the front desk and helping care navigators correctly route pharmacy requests.
Staff Up-skilling & Guidance: Provide informal guidance to reception staff on medication terminology, prescription turnaround expectations, and identifying urgent clinical warning signs (red flags) that need immediate escalation.
First-Contact Digital Triage: Act as the lead pharmacy contact monitoring incoming Accurx Patient Triage medication requests, online consultation forms, and internal EMIS tasks generated by reception.
2. Proactive Query Resolution & Workflow Management
Taking Initiative: Proactively review medication queues, identifying and resolving routine issues e.g., generic substitutions, stock shortages, dose alignment, and out-of-stock alternatives without needing step-by-step instruction for standard tasks.
Patient Communication: Utilize Accurx SMS, Florey questionnaires, and batch messaging to proactively message patients regarding prescription status, dose changes, or to request updated monitoring data e.g., BP readings, prior to issuing repeat prescriptions.
Structured Escalation: Accurately summarize complex clinical requests, append relevant EMIS consultation notes, and route task threads to Duty GPs
About us
Training, Support & Development
We invest in our team: While self-motivation and initiative are essential, you will not be expected to work in isolation.
Comprehensive Induction: Full initial training on practice-specific EMIS Web templates, Accurx workflows, and protocol-based decision-making.
Clinical Mentorship: Regular 1-to-1 supervision and ongoing support from our Lead Clinical Pharmacists and GP Triage Leads.
Professional Growth: Opportunities and financial support to undertake relevant training courses e.g., CPPE primary care pathways, care navigation, or clinical assessment modules.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust View all jobs
Posted 17 day(s) ago
Reference: 2383795
Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist to pioneer and develop Speech and Language Therapy provision across Hampshire's Forensic Learning Disability and Mental Health Services.
Working across inpatient mental health and learning disability wards, as well as the Forensic Community Learning Disability Team, you will provide specialist assessment, formulation and intervention for individuals with complex communication and dysphagia needs. Service users may have learning disabilities, autism and/or mental health conditions, and many will have contact with, or be at risk of contact with, the Criminal Justice System.
You will play a key role in identifying and addressing communication difficulties that can impact engagement, behaviour, risk and recovery. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support the development of communication-friendly environments, contribute to care planning and risk management, and promote accessible, person-centred care.
This unique role offers the opportunity to influence service development, raise the profile of Speech and Language Therapy within forensic services, and make a lasting difference to the lives of people with highly complex needs across both inpatient and community settings.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for delivering highly specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with complex communication, feeding and swallowing difficulties. Uses advanced clinical skills and evidence-based practice to develop, implement and evaluate personalised therapy programmes, adapting interventions to meet individual, cultural and linguistic needs.
Provides expert written and verbal advice to patients, carers, families and multidisciplinary teams, including communicating complex and potentially distressing information with sensitivity. Demonstrates advanced skills in managing patients with severe communication difficulties, disabilities and mental health needs, while promoting engagement, shared decision-making and positive therapeutic relationships.
Manages and prioritises a complex caseload independently, ensuring timely, effective interventions and accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and Trust standards. Produces specialist reports, develops care pathways and protocols, provides second opinions, and contributes to service evaluation, audit and quality improvement initiatives.
Acts as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, influencing patient care, service development and policy implementation through specialist knowledge and clinical expertise. Provides leadership within areas of specialism, supporting service objectives and contributing to strategic developments in response to service pressures and changing needs.

Job summary
Would you like to join our friendly and dynamic team of SLTs in Canterbury? We are looking for an energetic, self-motivated Speech and Language Therapist (SLT) for a permanent opportunity working on the East Kent Neuro Rehabilitation Unit (EKNRU) at Kent and Canterbury Hospital (KCH).
Our Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) team is passionate about supporting individuals with communication and swallowing in the inpatient rehabilitation setting. Our team vision is:
- To proactively and consistently offer high quality, responsive, person-centred care and intervention- To ensure every patient feels cared for, supported and empowered- To maximise quality of life by enabling each patient to optimise their communication, swallowing function and well-being
We are looking for like-minded SLTs to join our growing team! If you are enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated, then we would love you to come and join us at East Kent Hospitals University Foundation Trust!
Main duties of the job
The desired candidate will work closely with members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care to individuals with communication and swallowing difficulties following acquired brain injury. The desired candidate has specialist skills or is working towards obtaining these and is responsible for managing a clinical caseload of patients and maintaining accurate records of work. As a specialist SLT, you will assist in the supervision and training of more junior team members, assistants and students.
This post is based at Kent and Canterbury Hospital but there is infrequent but regular cross site working to support service development and case load management so the post holder should be able to travel to the other two main EKHUFT sites (WHH Ashford or QEQM Margate) when required.
As part of the role, we are pleased to be able to offer varied clinical opportunities across all three sites, quality improvement projects and highly skilled supervision and mentoring.
We are in the process of expanding our therapy input across a seven-day service, with regular groups, training and research opportunities, and embedded collaborative working with the MDT and external partners. Core working hours are Monday to Friday but the successful post-holder should be available to work across a seven day service, as required.
About us
Applications for this role should be written by the applicant. If artificial intelligence (AI) programmes are used then the application may be rejected due to this document being an important part of the assessment process. This does not prevent applicants seeking appropriate support with applications should they need to for the purposes of any declared disability.
We are one of the largest hospital trusts in England, with five hospitals and community clinics serving a local population of around 695,000 people.
Our vision is 'great healthcare from great people'. Everything we do is guided by our values: 'People feel cared for, safe, respected and confident that we are making a difference'.
We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care'. It's about empowering frontline staff to lead improvements day-to-day. We're looking for compassionate people to be part of our improvement journey for the patients, families and carers we care for every day.
Please note that if you require a Certificate of Sponsorship to work in the UK you must declare this on your application form, even if you currently have a certificate of sponsorship or a work permit for another role and are already working in the country. Please note we are only able to sponsor candidates for a Skilled Worker Visa for roles that are eligible at the time of application.
