We are looking to appoint 1x Full time, Fixed term, Senior Mental Health Advisor to join our Mental Health Advisory Service (MHAS)Team. The fixed term position is available from January 2027 December 2027.MHAS is a team of Senior Mental Health Advisors & Mental Health Advisors, within the student counselling service. We are positioned within the Education and Student Success Division and work in partnership with the Student Wellbeing Service, Residential Life, Disability Service and Student Health Service. MHAS works particularly with students with severe and enduring, complex mental health difficulties. The Mental Health Advisors are a group of highly skilled practitioners who work 1-1 and in groups with students and key functions of the role include triage and assessment, formulations, care planning, brief skills-based interventions, liaison, risk management and risk reduction work with students.

Main duties of the job

The MHAS team supports students with severe and enduring, complex mental health difficulties. As part of the team, you will work using the recovery model (hope, personal responsibility, education, self-advocacy and support) with students and are responsible for case formulations, care planning, risk assessments, and the subsequent risk reduction and stabilisation interventions. You would be working with awareness of the different needs of the student population such as neurodivergent students, international students etc. Senior Mental Health advisors deliver 1-1 sessions with students, cover MHAS duty function on a rota basis, liaise with internal and external partners, and lead on project work when needed.

As a Senior Mental Health advisor, you will support MHAS staff around complex cases, assist in service risk management, and have a key role in supporting the development of the service. You will also be responsible for attending and contributing to a multi-disciplinary complex case meetings as well as responsibility for case reviews, service capacity management and allocations.

The MHAS Team are part of the wider student counselling service and attend full team meetings, CPD training and peer supervision spaces. Additional individual and group supervision is provided by external supervisors on a monthly basis.

Perinatal Mental Health Team is a specialist mental health team that supports women and birthing people in the perinatal period with moderate to severe mental health difficulties using a multi-disciplinary approach. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to work on an adult acute psychiatric inpatient ward as part of the Mental Health Inpatients Psychological Therapies Team at Prospect Park Hospital in Reading. Job summary

You will be working within Bournemouth East Collaborative Primary Care Network (PCN) as a first contact Mental Health Triage Practitioner, to triage Patients who contact their Practice with Mental Health as a primary concern.

The purpose is to offer a focused telephone triage assessment to determine the next steps for the patient and provide facilitated access to the relevant service and, where relevant, connect the patient to valued community resources.

A great opportunity for a clinical or counselling psychologist provide psychology input to the Kingston Hospital Psychiatric Liaison Service. You will work within the Talking Therapies service providing high volume low intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role.    1. To undertake brief telephone triage of referrals into the service
   2. Assess and support people with a common mental health problem in the self-management of their recovery. This is through telephone clinical work, virtual, face to face work and group work, and using other media, as required.
   3. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department's referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary or steps up to high intensity.

As a senior clinician within the Mental Health Liaison Team, the post holder will provide expert mental health assessment, formulation and care planning for patients with complex presentations. They will work collaboratively with acute hospital colleagues and external partners to ensure patients receive timely assessment, appropriate treatment and onward referral to the most suitable services.

The post holder will support the day-to-day operational delivery of the liaison service during bank shifts, providing clinical leadership, advice and guidance to colleagues where required, whilst maintaining high standards of clinical practice, documentation and risk management.

The role requires a practitioner who can work autonomously within a fast-paced acute hospital environment, demonstrate sound clinical judgement and effectively manage competing priorities.

Main duties of the job

• Undertake comprehensive mental health and psychosocial assessments for patients presenting to ED and AMU.
• Assess, formulate and manage risk relating to self-harm, suicide, mental illness, behavioural disturbance and vulnerability.
• Develop and implement appropriate care and risk management plans.
• Provide specialist advice and consultation to acute hospital staff regarding the assessment and management of patients with mental health needs.
• Support decision-making regarding admission, discharge and appropriate onward referral pathways.
• Liaise effectively with community mental health teams, crisis services, primary care, social care, safeguarding teams and other partner agencies.

Manchester Thrive in Education is a Mental Health Support Team (MHST) developed as part of the national project to increase access to psychological support in education settings for children & young people. The service was established in 2020 and work closely with partner agencies as part of the getting help offer for child mental health.

The team work within education settings, including colleges to improve the whole setting approach to mental health & emotional wellbeing. Practitioners deliver CBT informed interventions for mild to moderate mental health difficulties individually and in groups. We are an innovative team involved in a variety of exciting projects across the city including Neurodiversity in Schools and Alternative Provision targeted task force.

There are multiple positions across North and South Manchester MHST.

As all MHST's are expanding at this time, there may be opportunities in other MHST's across the MFT footprint, including Salford and Trafford.

Main duties of the job

As an autonomous practitioner you will play a key part in the delivery of high-quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of children and young people, their families, and carers. In an education based team you will provide direct intervention for young people presenting with mild/moderate mental health difficulties within professional practice guidelines and a structured supervision framework.The post holder will be required to adapt to and undertake different or new duties in line with professional and service developments.

This role is to help provide leadership and oversight for physical health psychological services across the Specialist Community Division and wider Trust. Working closely with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist, you will be central to the development of treatment pathway for people with complex emotional needs, pulling together established DBT and CAT practitioners and working alongside other Principle Psychologists in the mood disorder pathway and Psychosis Pathway.

You will offer supervision, training and reflective practice to staff within the service. You will also devote some time to direct clinical work alongside a dedicated team of therapists.

Main duties of the job

As a senior clinician with substantial clinical experience and post-qualification training, the post-holder will provide a high level of psychological expertise within the Community Mental Health Service.

Working with the leadership team, clinical staff and peer support staff towards the development and maintenance of a multi-professional therapeutic environment will aim to provide the highest quality psychologically informed care for adults with severe mental health problems.

The postholder will also provide management and specialist clinical supervision to other psychological professionals working within the Community Mental Health Teams in Fareham CMHT and Gosport CMHT. Where there may be gaps in the service, providing support to other patches within the division in agreement with the Lead Psychologist. The duties will include ensuring job planning, pathways being embedded in their geographical patch and providing performance and quality data to the Lead Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

Job summary

NSFT Specialist Services are seeking to recruit a psychology graduate for a full-time Assistant Psychologist posts based at the Kingfisher Mother and Baby Unit at Hellesdon Hospital. Applicants must have excellent literacy and numeracy skills, a psychology degree with 2.1 or above and be eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.

The Kingfisher Unit has 8 beds and offers specialist acute in-patient treatment for mothers who have serious mental illness, in an environment where they can stay with their babies. Mothers have a range of presentations including postpartum psychosis, severe post-natal depression and severe post-natal anxiety. We are the unit for the East of England region and have a full multi-disciplinary team including medics, nurses, nursery nurses, midwives, health visitors, social workers, an occupational therapist, psychologists and a psychological therapist. There are lots of opportunities for multi-disciplinary working and learning about holding both the mother and babies' needs in mind in our work.

Main duties of the job

The role will involve working with the ward team to deliver psychologically informed interventions, with a focus on short term, intensive individual work alongside some opportunities for group work. All clinical work would be under the guidance and supervision of the a qualified clinical psychologist. There would be opportunities for service-related research and audit. The post holder would also need to take the lead on collecting routine outcome measures and using databases to analyse the data collected.

You would receive weekly supervision from a qualified psychologist. As a service we have close links to the clinical psychology doctoral training programme at the UEA and have supported previous assistant psychologist onto to clinical training.
