We are looking for a colleague with expertise in therapeutic approaches that support people with complex emotional and relational needs.

Experience of working with complex trauma is essential, and applicants trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) would be particularly welcome.

We are looking for a colleague with specialist training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), or a willingness to undertake DBT training.

We will also consider applications from candidates seeking a Band 7-to-8a preceptorship. Where there is a competitive field, preference may be given to applicants who already have the relevant specialist training and experience.

About the role and the opportunity

As a Highly Specialist Practitioner Psychologist or Psychological Therapist, you will provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy for people referred to your Specialist Mental Health Team, in line with local and national guidance, the Psychological Therapies for Severe Mental Health Problems framework and the Trust's clinical strategy.

As a senior practitioner, you will provide clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team, support the development of psychological practice and contribute to the effective management of therapy pathways and waiting lists. You may also support Band 7 therapists, Band 6 trainees and Band 5 Mental Health Wellbeing Practitioners.

You will be part of the wider psychological therapies' pathway in your borough, with access to regular clinical supervision, consultation on complex cases, peer support and continuing professional development. Job summary

We are excited to advertise a permanent 1.00 WTE Principal Practitioner Psychologist post (Clinical, Counselling, Forensic, grade 8b) to work in Tameside and Glossop's adult acute inpatient service. The two adult acute wards, Saxon and Taylor, are based at Tameside General Hospital and provide specialist assessment, care and treatment for men and women aged 18 to 65 years old with a variety of mental health needs. People will often be admitted via A&E, Liaison, Home Treatment Team, a Mental Health Act Assessment within the community or from an outpatient clinic and are often experiencing distress, a mental health deterioration and/or may be in crisis.

Saxon and Taylor are friendly, dynamic ward teams who are keen for a full MDT to help them provide the best possible care they can. We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Practitioner Psychologist to join us and provide high-quality psychology input within our acute inpatient services. The post holder will be part of an acute pathway psychology team with a network of colleagues around them and will supported and supervised by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist.

Main duties of the job

As outlined in the job description, the main duties include:

• To provide clinical leadership and direction in the continual development and provision of a high quality specialist psychology service within the adult acute inpatient service, embedding trauma informed care
• To support with the transformation of acute inpatient care, in line with national direction
• To hold a clinical caseload undertaking evidence-based psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention (individual and/or group). This may include a range of mental health difficulties at the point of crisis including experiences of psychosis, depression and/or Complex Emotional and Relational Needs (CERN)
• To provide specialist psychological support, consultation and guidance to other professionals contributing directly to the assessment, formulation and intervention plan
• To ensure the team have access to a psychologically-based framework for understanding and caring for the service user, through the provision of advice, consultation and the dissemination of psychological research and theory
• To undertake risk assessment and risk management and to provide general advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management
• To support inpatient colleagues through the provision of supervision, reflective practice and post-incident reflective spaces

Job summary

The successful candidates will provide a key gatekeeping service for all inpatient admissions, will offer intensive home treatment as an alternative to inpatient care, facilitate early discharge / leave pathways to support discharge from inpatient services. Main duties of the job

We are looking for candidates with experience of Intellectual Disability. You will be involved in complex assessment and formulation; designing complex multicomponent interventions and delivering these directly and indirectly via individual or group therapies, care planning, training and consultation. We would expect you to have experience of psychometric assessment and at least two forms of therapeutic intervention (such as Positive Behaviour Support, CBT or DBT), as well as an understanding of the latest evidence around interventions. The South Staffordshire Perinatal and Maternal Mental Service is a specialist service delivering person centred care to expectant and new mothers who are experiencing moderate to severe and complex mental health problems within the perinatal period, or families who have mental health needs associated with loss and trauma occurring in the maternity and neonatal context.

Due to recent staff changes an opportunity has arisen to join our service on a fixed term basis. We are looking for a dynamic, passionate, and creative psychological professional who wants to make a difference to the lives of mothers, babies, and their wider families. You will have a passion for supporting both Adult and Infant Mental Health and have an interest in improving maternity systems and supporting those who have mental health needs associated with maternity or neonatal trauma or loss.

The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides Multi-disciplinary specialised care throughout the West Midlands, to treat mothers with mental health problems, both during pregnancy and in the first year post-partum. There is also community outreach team as well as 10 inpatient bedded Unit at the Barberry. The NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) will see perinatal services expanding its remit to seeing approx. 10% of the birth rate, seeing women for up to 2 years postnatally.

Solihull Perinatal Team provide specialist perinatal service for women living in the Solihull Borough or with a Solihull GP, who are experiencing moderate to severe mental illness during the perinatal period.

We are seeking an additional mental health practitioner from a nursing or social work background to provide maternity cover for a period of 12 months to contribute their clinical skills and care coordinate a specialist caseload.
