Health Care Assistant

Band 3

Permanent - Full/Part Time

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Paediatric Unit at Whiston Hospital Ward 3F.

We are looking for committed individuals who would like to join our team supporting the nursing staff in the delivery of high quality care to our children and their families.

The ability to work alongside and support clinical staff with the day to day running of the ward environment is essential. Good communication skills and the ability to converse with all members of the multi disciplinary team are critical to the success of the role.

Due to current service demands, we are only able to consider applicants who have relevant UK experience. Candidates must also be available to commence employment immediately or within a very short timeframe. We regret that we cannot progress applications that do not meet these essential requirements.

Main duties of the job

The Senior Health Care Support Worker (SHCSW) will:

  1. Work with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to deliver the Trust's vision and values providing safe, high quality, compassionate, person centred care.
  2. Support/supervise learners, new staff and junior staff where required.
  3. Record patient information in accordance with local and trust policies. 4. Undertake personal care duties for patients within the care setting accessing supervision from a registered healthcare practitioner.
